We’re very proud to support the MS Society which we believe is a very worthwhile charity, due to our close connection with individuals living with the condition. Over the course of this year we have worked our way to our huge target of raising £5000 for the MS Society through various internal activities and external challenges, and now we’ve just completed challenge 4!
By now we’re pretty sure you’ve heard that throughout 2017 as a team we’ve tackled a lot of big challenges; from climbing Snowdonia, tackling the Colshaw Hall 10k to now taking on the Manchester Rough Runner!
Our final challenge saw our team encounter mud, sweat and more mud at Manchester’s infamous Rough Runner challenge. Hosted in the South Manchester countryside obstacles are erected to show us just how unfit we all are, but we also ensured we had some fun along the way. Over the distance of the course our team faced an obstacle course challenge, combining distance running with a variety of obstacles along the way, each inspired by game shows such as Total Wipeout, Takeshi’s Castle, Gladiators, and Fun House. The course also includes a huge 40m slide, giant pigeon battles, sweeper arms, big balls and yes, the famous travellator!
Lee Wilson, Phil Charlton, Andy Steward and Simon Cummings took on this fun but challenging course on behalf of Square 1 Products from our Cheshire office and our Chief Technical Officer Terry Dorricott travelled from Guildford for the event. The team put in plenty of training to physically prepare themselves for such a big challenge, to give the Manchester Rough Runner their absolute all.
It’s a fantastic way to raise awareness for the hard work the MS Society do as well as being a big challenge for our team. You can still support Lee, Phil, Andy, Simon and Terry on their huge challenge success by donating through our JustGiving page. It’s simple, fast, and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. Over the course of this year Square 1 Products aims to raise £5000 for the charity through various internal activities and challenges, with some really pushing our team to their max.
The MS Society is an exceptional charity that can help and support those who have been affected by the condition. The Manchester Rough Runner was a big challenge for Lee, Phil, Andy, Simon and Terry but one they looked forward to take part in. Square 1 Products wished the whole team the best of luck and they didn’t disappoint!
